Loaves baked with the SD-YD250 effortlessly slide out of the pan due to the flat blade and the high quality pan, and the machine runs as silently as a whisper, even while kneading whole wheat loaves.

Here are some great features of the Panasonic SD-YD250 Bread Machine:

  • Mixes, kneads, rises, and bakes in 3 loaf sizes, up to 2-1/2 pounds
  • Settings for white, whole wheat, multigrain, French, quick    breads/cakes

  • Measures 14 by 13-1/2 by 9 inches

Whereas with many other machines the crust is darker at the bottom near the heating element, the Panasonic Bread machine delivers crusts that are perfectly even from top to bottom, giving you perfect and delicious bread every time.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the SD-YD250:

This machine is very quiet, sturdy and easy to clean. I made white bread (from Panasonic recipe book) and whole wheat bread and they came out to be better than any store bought bread. Even whole wheat bread came out very good, it was soft and full of flavor. We were totally amazed by the fact that one can make excellent bread at home like a piece of cake! (M. Madhuri)

bread photoMy family just adores fresh, home made bread.  And because we’re trying to be very careful with our food, eating fresh, natural, chemical and preservative free foods encourages us to make many things from scratch.

When time allows, we happily mix, knead, and allow to rise our own breads.  But there are occasions when time is not on our side, and having the Panasonic SD-YD250 Bread Maker gives us that fresh, home made taste in less than half the time.

Over the years, I’ve tried several bread makers and often find that they lack consistency in their end product, the bread.  Some times the bread is over done, other times not done well at all. Some units were very sensitive to the ambient temperature in the house, and thus incorporated too much or too little moisture into the cooking process.

Finally, I’ve had the good fortune to use a Panasonic SD-YD250 Bread Maker and hope they never stop producing this bread maker. This bread maker has been a life saver on many occasions when we’ve needed a loaf of fresh, home made bread and just didn’t have the time to start from scratch.

We really appreciate the amazing convenience of putting in the ingredients, pressing the appropriate buttons to instruct the Panasonic SD-YD250 as to what type of bread to make. The bread type choice is totally automated and the unit is preprogrammed to follow a strict process in the mixing, rising, and baking times. You can, of course, override the program to adjust certain aspects of the unit to accommodate different measurements in your ingredients.

One of the breads that we make a lot and which packs a super, healthy punch is the 7-Grain Bread.  We used to buy whole grain breads at specialty stores and were paying close to $6.00 a loaf.  Now, we can make a tremendously healthy whole grain bread at home for less than one-third the price, and always have fresh bread on hand for our family.

The recipe that we use for the 7-Grain bread is actually one that came directly from the Panasonic SD-YD250 Bread Maker recipe book.  You’ll find it inside your manual, and it’s so worth it.  In case you’ve misplaced your recipe collection, here are the ingredients needed to bake this delicious bread:

Whole wheat flour (3 ¾ cups)

Salt  (2 tsp)

Dry milk  (2 tbsp)

Butter  (2 ½ tbsp)

7—grain cereal  (3/8 cup)

Molasses  (1 ½ tsp)

Water  (13 ½ ounces)

Dry yeast  (1 ½ tsp)

There are so many great recipes that work well in bread makers, and using the Panasonic SD-YD250 will make it so easy for you, you’ll wonder why in the world you waited so long.  Make your family some wholesome, fresh, home made bread this week, and you’ll be so pleased with the results.

If you’ve ever woken up to the aroma of fresh bread baking in your home, you know how special this simple pleasure can be. I don’t know if it’s because it reminds me of trips to Europe in my childhood to see relatives, or because I deeply associate the smell of fresh baked bread with lazy Saturday mornings, but the aroma really does a number on me.

For years the idea of making my own bread lay dormant at the back of my mind. But last year I came across a website that featured  bread machines (or bread makers, as they are also called- in fact, I wish we would choose which term to officially call them because there’s great information to be found online for each one of those names, and it can vary quite a bit!), and I suddenly woke up to the idea again. So I went ahead and bought myself a bread machine. I purchased the Panasonic SD-YD250 bread machine and started making my own bread at home, which, as it turns out, has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in years! Simple, natural, beautiful… that’s why my bread machine makes me smile :)

fresh bread

For me, making bread at home has an almost Zen-like quality it. It’s not hard work, it just takes a little preparation of the ingredients and the push of a couple of buttons, but it somehow manages to take me out of my daily (stressful) routine and I am rewarded with a) that amazing smell in the house, and b) fresh bread! I love it, and so does my family.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a bread machine, I can only suggest that you go for it and give it a try. It’s actually hard to go back to regular bread once you’ve started making your own, and as I’ve said in this post, the rewards are way more than just the wonderful stuff you get to eat at the end of the process… there’s something magical about doing it all yourself!

Panasonic bread makerBread is culturally one of the most basic elements of any society. This remains true for cultures all over the world, many even having the same word for it in entirely different languages because of its popularity. It is hearty and healthy at the same time.

Taking a trip to the grocery store, bread comes in all kinds of different shapes, sizes, colors, styles, and flavors. With this diversity there also comes a disparity in quality. Unfortunately, the cheaper the bread, the lower quality it will be.

Some bread is even stuffed with filling ingredients, things that are unnatural and shouldn’t be in there. While nutritionally fine, they still detract from flavor, and a good way to reclaim that lost taste for delicious bread is to make it on an individual basis, and there is no better machine to make it in than a Panasonic Bread Maker.

The Panasonic SD-YD250 bread maker has been consistently voted as one of the best bread makers available that fits within the middle price range. It is priced well for the features that it possesses. It is uncomplicated, and this is the biggest highlight of it. The reason why bread makers have become so popular these days is because people like the feeling of being able to make their own food. It’s only natural that making bread is generally more satisfying than making any other food item.

Unfortunately, because of our urban way of life these days, bread making is somewhat of a lost art. But with an item like the Panasonic SD-YD250, bread making has never been easier. The final product is something that the person using the maker can be proud of, and it requires little more effort than being able to put the ingredients in the device.

Many people swear that after switching to making their own bread, they have been unable to go back to buying store-bought. While this may sound like a bit of an exaggeration, a bread maker does do something for you that store-bought bread can’t: it serves the bread up hot and fresh. Most people can’t even remember the last time they had hot fresh bread, at least not of the pre-sliced store-bought variety. Fresh bread has a much richer flavor, is far more savory than cold bread, and has certain softness to it that a slice of bread that is cold and hardened cannot ever quite get back no matter what temperature it is heated up to.

The YD250 model is certainly an unconventional take on bread making. The loaves it makes are horizontal rather than vertical like most people are used to. Also there is no viewing window which is something that usually comes standard on other models. This is explained by the fact that the bread is cooked internally and therefore does not allow for glass. It may not be the fanciest model available, but the Panasonic SD-YD250 Bread Maker is sturdy, makes delicious bread, and allows customers the ability to recapture their pioneering spirit by creating their very own bread, which is surely an experience everyone should take part in during their lifetime.

I thought I’d post a video of one the best bread machines around so you get an idea of the real size of the unit. As you’ll see, it’s quite a bit bigger than it looks in most photos where it appears by itself. It’s only by showing a person handling it that you can discern its true size. The video is less than a minute long and it’s worth checking out to get a real sense of how the machine might fit in your kitchen.
